The PTA is sponsoring a second workshop by local parenting experts PEP - Parent Encouragement Program, next week. This one is: Tackling Technology, January 9, 7:30 in the media center, presented by Paige Trevor, a super dynamic certified Parent Educator.

Feel like you’re constantly asking your child to “turn that thing off?” Whether it’s video consoles, computers, tablets or smart phones, you may be starting to feel like electronics are ruling your child’s life, making you tempted to shut them down and unplug them entirely. In this workshop, we will explore some of the problems caused by excessive electronic use, as well as ways to set limits around technology and ideas for improving connections with your children through technology.

PEP's mission is to build strong, harmonious family relationships through parenting education, skills training and support. We help adults foster the values of mutual respect, shared responsibility, competence and cooperation in young people, preparing them to make positive contributions to their families, their communities and the world at large.

PEP workshops can normally cost $35 per person but the PTA is using your donations to sponsor this class so parents can attend for free. If you would like to make a donation of $5 or $10 to defray the costs that is much appreciated, just see a PTA Board member at the class. No RSVP necessary, just come!
