Help us organize our most popular events for students and families. These events help raise funds to support many of the other activities that the PTA sponsors for the entire BHES community.
Art Show: The creative talents of our students are on full display during this spring event.
Bingo Night: This exciting game night features prizes, raffles, and lots of fun.
Book Fair: The hugely successful Scholastic Book Fair is held each Fall and Spring.
Geo Bee: Grades 4 and 5 participate in this academic challenge that all can attend.
Heritage Night: A world tour of students’ heritage!
Movie Night: BHES students enjoy a movie with friends during this fun evening activity.
Science Fair: This annual event inspires all young scientists to participate.
Variety Show: An entertaining spring event showcasing BHES students’ diverse talents.
School Activities and Programs

There are numerous ways you can help the school with its day-to-day operations as well as with special activities for students and staff.
5th Grade Promotion: Organize refreshments, decorations, and 5th grade activities for students in their last year at BHES.
A to Z Directory: Assist with A to Z communications and create our school directory.
Birthday Bash: Help children celebrate their birthdays with special treats and prizes!
Box Tops and Grocery Card Program: Earn money for our school by helping with redemption of Box Tops for Education and organizing the grocery cards program.
Cultural Arts Assemblies: Schedule special appearances from theater groups, dance troops, musicians, and others.
Hospitality: Supply refreshments to Bradley Hills parents when in-person gatherings resume.
Kindergarten Orientation and Summer Play Dates: Work with BHES staff to organize the spring orientation for incoming kindergarteners and schedule their summer play date.
Lost and Found: When in-person instruction resumes, work with BHES staff to pick up items left on school grounds and help organize, clean out and donate items from the lost and found.
Lunch and Recess: Provide support, supervision, and facilitation during lunch and recess to keep students safe and engaged once in-person instruction resumes.
Media Center: Shelve books, check out books and assist children with Media Center projects once in-person instruction resumes.
Odyssey of the Mind: Help coach one of several BHES teams that participate in this annual creative problem-solving competition.
Read-a -Thon: Help with our winter book reading fundraiser and various reading events.
Room Parent: Help teachers with classroom needs, plan class parties whether virtual or in-person, and facilitate communication between teacher and parents.
Spelling Bee: Assist with coordinating the Scripps Spelling Bee in grades 3-5.
Spirit Wear: Help with spirit wear sales!
Whale-Mart: Help organize the School Store when in-person instruction resumes.
Ongoing Committee Work

PTA Committees provide essential support throughout the year. Whether you choose to serve on the committee or just support a single event, there are many ways to get involved.
Community Service: Plan and implement school-wide activities (including those that support our sister school, Weller Road Elementary) that educate BHES students about the importance of social responsibility.
Exercise Your Brain (EYB) Whale Pods: Help facilitate project-based learning pods where students create individual projects at home and then present them to fellow students and engage in discussion about their ideas.
Green Team: Help raise awareness of the school’s Green/Environmental commitment and support various Green Team and green certification activities.
Membership: Help with the annual PTA membership drive by circulating and collecting PTA membership forms, distributing directories and PTA membership cards to parents.
Safety: Work with the school administration to address health safety and security issues on school grounds, playground use, drop off and pick up procedures, and security
Special Ed Liaison: Support the special needs community at BHES by promoting acceptance of special needs students and providing information and resources for parents and teachers.
Staff Appreciation: Help plan and execute various events, such as lunches or gift giving, to remind our teachers and staff how much they are valued.
Website: help assist the PTA in re-thinking and revamping the PTA website.
Wellness: Implement programs and share information to support children’s health and wellness, with a focus on nutrition and fitness, e.g., rainbow week, fun run, and speakers.
